British Airways hit by computer failure

-

A catastrophic computer outage crippled one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs on Saturday, forcing British Airways to cancel all flights out of two London airports, leaving countless passengers stranded.

British Airways said the airline suffered a “major IT system failure” causing errors on its website, ticket machines and behind-the-scenes technical infrastructure.

British Airways cancelled all departures at Heathrow Airport and at nearby Gatwick Airport. The airline later announced that none of its planes would leave before Sunday.
