Martin Goodman cycling trail needs safety barriers

-

Re City to study safety of trail in wake of 5-yearold’s death, May 26

I ride the Martin Goodman trail on almost a daily basis. In the past three years, on at least two occasions, cars have lost control, jumped the curb and knocked down a concrete utility pole.

It’s only a matter of time before a cyclist is hit by an out-of-control vehicle along that stretch of the highway they call a “drive.” It’s time to install safety barriers. Dr. Romeo Bruni, Toronto

For all drivers, whenever you see children cycling, bouncing balls or walking nearby, please slow down because they could lose their balance, run after a ball or run out onto the street. Josie Hilton, Newmarket
