Warner golden in tune-up for worlds
GOETZIS, AUSTRIA— In his final international decathlon before the world championships, Damian Warner won the Hypo Meeting for a third time Sunday. Warner, from London, Ont., earned 8,591 points over 10 events, edging the Netherlands’ Eelco Sintnicolaas (8,539) and Germany’s Rico Freimuth (8,365). The 2016 Olympic bronze medallist won the 110-metre hurdles and held off Sintnicolaas by finishing seventh in the 1,500 metres. Pierce LePage of Whitby, Ont., was 17th with 7,894 points.
