Kiwis withstand Canada’s challenge
LANGFORD, B.C.— Tyla Nathan-Wong and Michaela Blyde scored first-half tries as New Zealand beat Canada 17-7 on Sunday to win a HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series event. Alena Saili added a clinching try for New Zealand. Julia Greenshields scored Canada’s try, with Ghislaine Landry converting. The Canadians beat reigning Olympic champion Australia 17-10 in the semifinal. Canada began its day with a 33-5 quarter-final win against England.
