KEY PLAYERS

Holliday/Gardner/Tulowitzki Yankees Matt Holliday and Brett

Gardner each hit a pair of homers in Tuesday’s 8-3 win over Baltimore. The folically-challenged pair have been dubbed the Bald Bombers and are having fun with it, challenging each other to see who hits the most homers. They were both at 11 heading into Wednesday night’s game against the Orioles, tied for second on the team behind rookie sensation Aaron Judge. Gardner is about 50 pounds lighter than Holliday and five inches shorter. . . . Blue Jay Troy Tulowitzki calls Holliday as a mentor and good friend from their days in Colorado. Tuowitzki has also been showing off some power since his return from the disabled list this week, including a grand slam on Monday. NEED TO KNOW The Jays will face Severino — having an outstanding year after struggles in 2016 — in the series finale. Severino struck out Baltimore star Manny

Machado three times on Tuesday, upping his record to 4-2 with a 2.93 ERA after an ugly 0-8 record in 11 starts last season. . . . The Yankees may get centre fielder Jacoby Ells

bury back from the seven-day concussion list during this series. He slammed into the centre-field wall on a play last Wednesday. . . . Through Tuesday, the Yankees (plus 62) ranked second in the American League in run differential behind the Houston Astros. UP NEXT In Oakland for three against the A’s starting Monday.
