Raptors: Picking at 23

A quick look at the NBA draft, a tworound event to be held Thursday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Centre. The first selection should come just after 7:30 p.m., with teams having five minutes to make a first-round selection, and two minutes for a choice in the second round. TV coverage in Canada is on TSN.

THE RAPTORS

Toronto has the 23rd pick in the first round and no second-round selection. Here are five possibilit­ies for that pick: Semi Ojeleye, six-foot-seven forward, SMU junior. T.J. Leaf, six-foot-10 power forward, UCLA freshman. Tyler Lydon, six-foot-10 forward, Syracuse sophomore. Terrance Ferguson, six-foot-seven guard forward, played in Australia last season. Isaiah Hartenstei­n, seven-foot forward centre, 19-year-old played in Lithuania last season.

WITH THE 23RD PICK …

A look at the last five players to go 23rd overall: 2012: John Jenkins, Atlanta. Shooting guard couldn’t stick with three NBA teams, was at Raptors freeagent camp last week.

2013: Solomon Hill, Indiana. Traded to New Orleans last year, small forward appeared in 80 games.

2014: Rodney Hood, Utah. Shooting guard has started 155 games over three seasons with Jazz. 2015: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Portland. Small forward has played 107 NBA games with Brooklyn. 2016: Ante Zizic, Boston. Sevenfoote­r may join Celtics next season. Doug Smith
