A plan to fix raccoon woes

-

Re Blame us for raccoon woes, June 21 It is high time that Toronto started a “Trap, Spay/Neuter, Release Program” to control the raccoon population.

I am tired of seeing small baby raccoons wandering around, their mothers having been trapped and the young left to survive as best they can. A population control program such as the above mentioned “Trap, Spay/Neuter, Release Program” plus the addition of a birth control pellet distribution could stop the often cruel and unsuccessful control systems now in use.

I’m sure these programs would be appreciated by the public, especially those who have had property damage and in desperation have often taken very cruel measures into their own hands. Ann Bell, Toronto
