Aretha Franklin’s Toronto show postponed

Aretha Franklin’s much anticipate­d show in Toronto, scheduled for Canada Day, has been postponed till 2018 on doctor’s orders.

Franklin, 75, rated the greatest singer of all time by Rolling Stone, was to have played the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts that night.

But the TD Toronto Jazz Festival said Monday that “as per doctor’s orders, Aretha Franklin cannot make the trip to Toronto this week.”

Her show has been reschedule­d to the 2018 jazz fest with a date of June 28

Holders of tickets for this weekend’s gig have the option of getting refunds or keeping them for the new date.

Franklin performed in her hometown of Detroit earlier this month, reportedly telling the enthusiast­ic crowd, “Keep me in your prayers.”
