Ryu takes over as world No. 1 after win

ROGERS, ARK.— Two-time major champion So Yeon Ryu has a new title — No. 1 in the world. Ryu became the third player this year to rise to No.1 in the women’s world golf rankings with her weekend victory in the NW Arkansas Championsh­ip. The 26year-old from South Korea replaces Ariya Jutanugarn, who held the top ranking for two weeks after replacing Lydia Ko. Ryu, a two-time winner this season, is the third South Korean to earn the top ranking, joining Inbee Park and Jiyai Shin.
