Man struck by car in serious condition

A man in his 40s is in serious condition after he was struck by a car in Scarborough on Saturday afternoon. The man was not on the road when he was hit just after 1:30 p.m. near Neilson Rd. and Sheppard Ave., Toronto police Const. Rob Reid said.

It’s not clear whether he was on the sidewalk at the time. He was not jaywalking, according to police.

Reid said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
