Man ar­rested in fire that killed 22 peo­ple

Author­i­ties ap­pre­hended a man sus­pected of set­ting fire to a two-storey house in eastern China early Sun­day, killing 22 peo­ple, the of­fi­cial Xin­hua News Agency re­ported.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors dis­cov­ered traces of gaso­line at the scene of the pre-dawn fire and found all the doors of the house locked. The house, about 80 kilo­me­tres north­west of Shang­hai, was used as a dor­mi­tory for 29 peo­ple work­ing at a lo­cal restau­rant.
