Coulter was right to fight

-

Re Ann Coulter lost more than her seat, Menon, July 18 I’m with Ann Coulter on this one. When you pre-select and pay extra for your seat, it is expected that you will be provided that seat during your flight.

I have been asked to switch seats for people who didn’t spend the extra $30 to get their preferred seat but who expect the airline to accommodate them and expect me to give up my aisle seat because they were too cheap.

These inconsiderate folks include couples who arrive late and can’t get seats together, those who at boarding time perceive themselves to need more leg room and, my favourite, families with three children who expect to get five seats near each other.

But these people never pre-book. And then passengers look at me like I am healthy enough to move and, therefore, I am choosing to split that family up. I have no sympathy for these people. They created their situation and the airline should not be expected to impose on other passengers. When I travelled with my children, I pre-booked.

Emergencies and anomalies would alter my position but I haven’t seen any. Just inconsiderate and entitled types who expect others to accommodate them. Not this Septuagenarian. Mike Faye, Toronto
