Ilse Weber was a poet, musician and author in Czechoslovakia throughout the 1930s. She was also a letter writer, and between 1933 and 1944 wrote these missives detailing life before and during the period she lived in the Theresienstadt Jewish ghetto. Weber and her 10-year-old son, Tommy, died in Auschwitz in 1944.
