WHEN YOU GO:

Chase icebergs: I went out with Iceberg Quest from St. John’s (they also run from Twillingate). A twohour boat tour was $70 for adults and $30 for kids. Keep an eye on icebergfinder.com and Newfoundland Iceberg Reports on Facebook and Twitter (@NLIcebergReport). Stay: I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in downtown St. John’s, which is steps from Duckworth and Water Sts. and has that all-important pool when you travel with kids. Eat: I loved brunch (and the cake table) at Mallard Cottage in the Quidi Vidi area of St. John’s, steps from Quidi Vidi Brewery and the Quidi Vidi Village Plantation (a craft enterprise incubator for emerging artists with work spaces/shops).
