KEY PLAYERS Josh Donaldson, Jays, and Aaron

Judge, Yankees. These are two of September’s hottest hitters. A healthy Donaldson has given the Jays a preview of what to expect all year in 2018 if he remains healthy. For the month, the Bringer of Rain is batting .329 with 10 homers, 19 RBIs and a 1.136 OPS. Since Aug. 1, Donaldson has 22 homers and 46 RBIs. Meanwhile Judge is the gavelto-gavel prohibitive favourite as rookie of the year and has a solid chance at the AL MVP award. He is batting .313 in September with 13 homers, 29 RBIs, 25 bases on balls and a 1.136 OPS. Both men will be allowed to play the entire series, even if there is nothing on the line.

NEED TO KNOW The Jays are 9-7 vs. the Yankees this year (6-4 in Toronto, 3-3 in New York) and are the only AL East team with a winning record against New York . . . The Jays were 12-7 vs. the Yankees in 2016 and have three straight winning seasons against the Bombers, going 34-20 in that span.
