According to restaurant conglomerate Cara Foods, the company has a long-standing and comprehensive animal welfare policy that is publicly posted on its corporate website and that of its restaurant brands. An Oct. 19 Opinion article about making a scapegoat out of seal meat included a statement by Mercy for Animals that said Cara lacked a policy adequate to prevent animal abuse in its supply chain.
