BRUCE ARTHUR’S NFL PICKS
Pittsburgh (-10) at Indianapolis
One of the great pleasures of this awful Colts season is that Gregg Doyel, the combatively colourful columnist for the Indianapolis Star, gets to unload every week. He’s good anytime, but he’s great when he opens the fire hoses. Pick: Indianapolis
New Orleans (-3) at Buffalo
Big game, Buffalo. Big game. 5-3, in a playoff spot, crapped out against the Jets last week. My Buffalo friend says you can hear the celebrations if you’re outside during a game and the Bills score. It can be the same if they really screw up, too. Pick: Buffalo
N.Y. Giants (-2.5) at San Francisco
There is speculation Eli Manning could be benched. Two Super Bowl wins over Tom Brady, his best wide receiver hurt, two starts from passing Peyton’s consecutive starts mark. I predict the saddest Manning face if this happens. Pick: San Francisco THE REST Selections in bold. Green Bay (+5.5) at Chicago Cleveland (+11.5) at Detroit L.A. Chargers (+3.5) at Jacksonville N.Y. Jets (-2.5) at Tampa Bay Minnesota (-1.5) at Washington Cincinnati (+4.5) at Tennessee Houston (+12) at L.A. Rams Dallas (+3) at Atlanta New England (-7.5) at Denver Miami (+9) at Carolina Byes: Baltimore, Kansas City, Oakland, Philadelphia
Last week: 7-5-1 Season record: 54-75-3
