Jugs no better than bags

Why exactly would we replace thin plastic bags with thick plastic jugs? Both are single use and it’s far from guaranteed that the masses would recycle the jugs. One large container is also more prone to spoiling than smaller sealed portions, and likely less efficient for transport to the store. Nick Moreau, Brampton
