Dash of Canadiana as Agnew joins Houston

HOUSTON— The Houston Dash acquired Canadian international Lindsay Agnew and the No. 6 overall pick in Thursday’s NWSL draft from the Washington Spirit for the No. 3 pick. The 22-year-old Agnew — born in Kingston, Ont., where her father Gary coached the OHL’s Frontenacs before going on to be an NHL assistant coach — has won seven caps for Canada. She joins fellow Canadians Janine Beckie and Nichelle Prince in Houston. Houston already held the No. 1 pick.
