A new look is coming to the Toronto Star!

For you, our readers, that means a newspaper that’s easier to read and easier to handle.

Starting Sunday, March 4, we are reducing the width of the daily paper by one inch, or about 5 per cent, but the depth of each page will remain the same. On Sundays our popular opt-in sections, the New York Times International Weekly and the New York Times Book Review, will be resized by the same amount.

The new look also means we have been able to develop a design that will make it easier for you to read stories without us having to increase the size of the type we currently use.

In reducing our page width, the Star is following the recent examples set by other major daily newspapers. We have conducted extensive tests over the past few months to ensure the overall quality of the newspaper will not be affected by this move.

We hope you enjoy the Star’s new look and size.
