Solarte/Sano Josh Donaldson could be back with the Blue Jays some time this week and manager John Gibbons has said he expects the slugger to slot back in at third base, meaning this could be Yangervis Solarte’s last regular playing time at the position. He’s hitting .231 with seven home runs and 14 RBIs. Twins third baseman Miguel Sano leads the club with five homers and 15 RBIs.

Twins centre fielder Byron Buxton — who has feasted on Blue Jays pitching to the tune of a career .453/.531/1.034 slashline — is on the disabled list with a broken left big toe, suffered on a foul tip while rehabbing with the Class-A Fort Myers Miracle, following time off with migraines ... The Twins snapped an eight-game losing skid Saturday with a 3-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds, then lost 8-2 on Sunday ... Five games at Target Field have been postponed already this season because of inclement weather.
