With Loan Stars, librarians across Canada vote on the book titles coming out each month that they believe should be available in the country’s library systems. Here are the top 10 for July:

1. Her Pretty Face, Robyn Harding (Gallery/Scout Press)

2. The Last Time I Lied, Riley Sager (Dutton)

3. Give Me Your Hand, Megan Abbott (Little, Brown)

4. You’re On An Airplane, Parker Posey (Blue Rider Press)

5. Snap, Belinda Bauer (Grove/Atlantic)

6. Dear Mrs. Bird, AJ Pearce (Scribner)

7. In The Middle Are The Horsemen, Tik Maynard (Trafalgar Square Books)

8. Suicide Club, Rachel Heng (Henry Holt)

9. When The Flood Falls, J.E. Barnard (Dundurn)

10. Indianapolis, Lynn Vincent, (Simon and Schuster)

Three Canadian books are listed this month: 1, 7 and 9.

Vancouverbased author Robyn Harding’s book is making a splash everywhere and also made it on to the Star’s Summer Reads list.

Here’s what the librarians had to say about a couple of the other books:

“Snap has three plot strands. Jack was 11 when his mother was murdered and now, he’s supporting his sisters through crime. Pregnant Catherine wakes to find a knife and sinister note on her pillow. Meanwhile police are setting a trap for a burglar they call Goldilocks. It’s not hard to figure how they connect but as always, Bauer has written a compelling plot with memorable characters.” — Margaret Elwood, TPL

“In the vein of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, Dear Mrs. Bird is a humourous, moving tale of the power of the connection letters can bring. While set during the Blitz of the Second World War, it wasn’t a heavy and depressing read. I can’t wait for the next book about Emmy!” — Kristine den Boon, Marigold Libraries
