Introducing pet shampoo from celeb-approved haircare brand Ouai
Have you ever caught a glimpse of one of those chic straight-haired Shih Tzu dogs trotting down the street and thought to yourself, “Nice hair”? (Same.) With a surprising — and delightful — new product launch, those doggy-hair-envy moments might be a little more frequent.
Ouai, celebrity hair guru Jen Atkin’s cool-girl-approved brand that already tends to the tresses of stars such as Kaia Gerber and Bella Hadid, launched pet shampoo on July 1. Yep, a $37 luxury shampoo for sudsing up our furry friends is on the way. But before you scoff, Ouai Pet Shampoo will not only pamper your pet, the limited edition product will also contribute to a good paws. I mean, cause. According to the brand’s website, Ouai Pet Shampoo will support the Vanderpump Dog Foundation, a “non-profit charity that is working on both a domestic and international front to help create a better world for dogs globally” by donating 15 per cent of all proceeds toward it. Per the Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s site, two of the charity’s key priorities are tackling dog overpopulation and ending the torture of dogs at the Yulin Dog Meat Festival.
The pet wash uses only the finest ingredients for our beloved cats and dogs (and piglets). With a gentle formula infused with odour-fighting cleansers and nourishing conditioners and free of parabens, sulphates and phthalates, Ouai Pet Shampoo boosts shine and reduces knots on your pet’s coat. The shampoo is also said to be safe for critters with both sensitive and dry skin: Two of its main ingredients are apple cider vinegar, which has natural antibacterial properties that help balance pH levels on the skin, and aloe leaf juice, which soothes.
The best part? It has the same breezy floral signature scent as Ouai’s human shampoos, so in addition to having silky locks, your four-legged soulmate can also smell like you. Twinsies!
