Halton police seek two male suspects in death of 19-year-old

A19-year-old man was shot and killed in Oakville on Friday night in what Halton police say appeared to be “a targeted attack.”

Officers responded to a call around11:15 p.m. on Rebecca St., east of Dorval Dr., for a possible shooting. When emergency services arrived, a man was found in medical distress. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examinatio­n was being conducted Saturday.

In a news release, police said “the shooting appears to have been a targeted attack.”

They are looking for two male suspects in their late teens or early 20s, Insp. Ivan L’Ortye said Saturday morning.

Rebecca St. between Dorval Dr. and Maurice Dr. was closed for several hours while investigat­ors combed the scene.

Police are urging anyone in the area who has CCTV cameras or any witnesses with informatio­n to contact 905-8254776 or Crime Stoppers.
