After a couple of delays, Drake finally got his Toronto concert stop on Tuesday night and told the hometown crowd he holds the city up as an example of peace and harmony.

The rapper told the audience at the Scotiabank Arena that the city he grew up in built and sustained him during his rise to the top of the world of commercial music. But he also praised the “values” of Toronto.

“I’m forever grateful, everywhere I go, I carry the value of this city with me,” he said. “Every night that I go and I do a show in America, I tell them that this is how the world is supposed to work.’ ”

“You see, tonight, we got 17,000 people inside one building from all races, from all places, and all we are doing is just listening to music, and smoking and drinking and enjoying our lives. And I want you to know that that’s something that I learned right here in Toronto. “You made me the man I am today, you made me the artist I am today.”

Drake’s tour dates with Migos were delayed by 10 days from Aug. 10-12 to Aug. 20-22, and then the Aug. 20 show was postponed again, for undisclosed reasons.

Drake used the day off to visit a sick fan in the hospital.

The Toronto shows come in the place of Drake’s annual OVO Fest concert around this time of year, and there was one OVO-style surprise guest: fellow rap star Travis Scott, whose album Astroworld is currently No.1on the U.S. Billboard album chart, who performed “SICKO MODE” and “goosebumps.” Brampton’s Roy Woods served as opening act on Tuesday.
