Brett Cecil’s kitchen nightmares, sidelined by sneezes … Aaron Sanchez’s misery has company,

Aaron Sanchez isn’t the first Blue Jay to be sidelined with a freak injury. Fans might recall ...

GLENALLEN HILL: The outfielder suffered cuts to his toes and elbow as well as carpet burns to his knees after trying to escape imaginary spiders while sleepwalking during a nightmare in 1990. Teammates reportedly nicknamed him Spider-Man after the incident.

RICKEY HENDERSON: Henderson fell asleep with an ice pack on his foot in 1993 and woke up with frostbite. MLB’s stolen base king missed three games.

HUCK FLENER: Flener was flying to spring training in 1997 when a briefcase flew out of the airplane’s overhead compartment and chipped his collarbone. The left-hander made his first start on April 23 that year.

PAUL QUANTRILL: The Canadian righty initially said he broke his leg while tobogganing in 1999, but later admitted it happened in a snowmobiling accident. He missed 64 games after surgery. RICKY ROMERO, COLBY RASMUS and KEVIN PILLAR: All three suffered injuries by sneezing — Romero in 2009, Rasmus in 2013 and Pillar in 2015.

BRETT CECIL: The lefty reliever had two kitchen accidents during his time with the Blue Jays. In 2010, he missed a spring training start when he cut his thumb while making chicken salad. In 2011, he cut his left index finger when cleaning a blender in the visitors’ clubhouse at Fenway Park.

MICHAEL SAUNDERS: The outfielder stepped on a sprinkler head while shagging fly balls at spring training in 2015, tearing cartilage in his left knee. He played just nine games that year.
