Mississauga principal charged with fraud
A Mississauga principal was charged with fraud after $30,000 went missing from the elementary school’s coffers.
Peel Regional Police were notified by auditors in June about “discrepancies in cash handling procedures.”
After a “lengthy and thorough investigation,” police say, Toronto resident David Clifford, 53, was charged Wednesday with fraud over $5,000 and will appear at a Brampton court.
Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board spokesperson Bruce Campbell said Clifford is no longer the principal of St. Raymond Elementary School and has been on leave for “several months,” but would not comment further.
