Thank you, TTC subway workers, for all you do

-

Re Every night, an army of workers descends on the subway lines. It’s dangerous work that’s claimed 3 lives since 2007, Oct. 27

I was relieved and saddened to read the Toronto Star article on workers in the subway. Relieved that there was — finally — a full article about the people who work! Saddened and angry about those who lost their lives doing the work to make it possible for me to get to and fro in this city.

I am so sick of the reportage on the TTC being all about the inconvenience of passengers with no sense whatever just what it takes to make the system work — the people who drive and clean and build and repair and take care of all the paperwork.

The article was a small but potent gesture of recognition to all of you.

Thank you for the work you do every day! Cady Williams, Toronto
