Consumer practices must change to help fight global warming
Does it take a gory Blue Planet documentary to induce change in consumer practices effecting the environment? The introduction of paper cups with plastic lining to replace harmful foam cups of the past has ultimately failed to be a solution against environmental harm. This is not just due to the issue of the lack of specialized paper mills. It is in combination with today’s “throwaway society,” plus persistent lags in countries testing and implementing another temporary solution, amplifying the issue. Hopefully other nature documentaries will arrive to encourage testing for more permanent solutions. Jessica Jeyakanthan, Markham
