Cuts to social assistance put people out in the cold

-

Re Danger signs everywhere, Editorial, Nov. 4 Premier Doug Ford’s political party has fully earned the right to a new title.

With apprehended cuts to social assistance, deferral for a decade of any increase in the minimum wage for workers, cutbacks in worker protection, assistance and equity, refusal to investigate employee allegations of illegal corporate actions, and cancellation of every government effort to curb global warming, our ruling political party should be named for what it actually is.

It should be named the Ontario Regressive Conservative Party. Earle Gray, Lindsay, Ont. Thank you for your words about social assistance today.

They make me feel less alone even if, on Nov. 8, I will still be alone at night under the crap “landed” on me. Please stay close to us. You know the power that the Star and its investigative team can have and it would be amazing to feel it coming our way. Claude Wittmann, Toronto
