Ex-Blue Jay Ward switch hits in NL

-

The Reds hired Turner Ward from the Dodgers as hitting coach under new manager David Bell, and pitching coach Derek Johnson from the Brewers. Ward — who played 12 seasons, including three as a Blue Jay — spent the last three seasons as the Dodgers’ hitting coach, when they set club records for homers, extrabase hits and slugging percentage. They led the NL with 235 homers last season.
