Game day: Leafs at Boston Bruins

- Kevin McGran

TD GARDEN Faceoff: 7 p.m. TV: CBC, Sportsnet 360 Radio: TSN Radio 1050 Key players: David Pastrnak vs. Morgan Rielly Pasta, as they call him in Boston, has 12 goals in his first 14 games. He absolutely killed the Leafs in the playoffs last season, with five goals and eight assists in the seven-game series … Rielly — they call him Bobby M-Orrgan in Toronto — was off to the hottest start by a defenceman in the past 20 years. Need to know: The Maple Leafs won three of four regular-season games against Boston last year … With Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, the Bruins have one of the most potent lines in the league, but they may be relying on that one line too much. The trio has accounted for more than 60 per cent of Boston’s offence … Marchand has 13 overtime goals in his career, a Bruins record … G Jaroslav Halak has been pushing starter Tuukka Rask for playing time … Injuries to D Charlie McAvoy (upper body), D Urho Vaakanainen (concussion) and D Kevan Miller (hand) have decimated the Bruins’ blue line. Up next: Tuesday, Maple Leafs at L.A. Kings, 10:30 p.m.
