Brown’s tell-all book rings true for some

-

Re Brown’s explosive tell-all book lashes out at Tory ‘enemies,’ Nov. 15 Patrick Brown believes the backlash against two-term premier Wynne was so pronounced that the Conservatives could have taken power with any of his front running replacements. Of all the candidates to choose from, why did that party have to elect the candidate that would move us back toward 19th century attitudes with sex education and a disastrous dismantling of the carbon tax plan? I had to check Wikipedia to see if the Ontario Tories still go by the name “Progressive Conservative Party.”

In reading excerpt from book in today’s Star, Browns words, “I often wonder whether or not those around Ford realize that most people didn’t vote for him or the PC party; they voted against Wynne, we could have run anyone, and it would not have mattered.”

Patrick Brown’s portrayal of former fellow members might sound like he’s a poor loser, but he certainly describes now cabinet ministers, Vic Fideli and Lisa McLeod, as they come across to my mind in their specific governing roles. Dorothy Low, Richmond Hill Mr. Brown’s tell-all about infighting, backroom deals and personal vendettas is really the story of the Conservative party itself. They seem to be eagles that have never been taught (or won’t listen) to flying in formation. We have seen the enemy — and it is us! Douglas Cornish, Ottawa
