A chemical distribution company sells rare compounds to research labs. One such compound may be purchased at $20 for 1/60 ounce or $60 for 1/30 ounce. Many of the labs complained that 1/60 was too little and 1/30 was too much of the compound. An enterprising startup company then came up with 1/45 ounce of the same compound for $45. Unfortunately, this company was forced out of business after one year. Can you offer any guesses as to why?
