Wilson hit deemed to be legal by league

WASHINGTON— Capitals forward Tom Wilson won’t face supplemental discipline from the NHL after he was ejected from Friday’s game against the New Jersey Devils for an illegal check. Wilson collided with forward Brett Seney and while the hit was late and could have been considered interference, the contact was through the shoulder. Wilson’s match penalty was likely to be rescinded, clearing him to play Sunday.
