Foot injury ends Olsen’s season

-

Carolina tight end Greg Olsen suffered a seasonending right-foot injury in a 2417 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 33-year-old Olsen, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, broke the same foot twice in the past two seasons. “The plantar fascia on the bottom of my foot popped,” he said after Sunday’s game, declining comment on his NFL future. The loss was the Panthers’ fourth straight following a 6-2 start. Chris Manhertz and rookie Ian Thomas split snaps at tight end after Olsen’s injury.
