Sharpe opens season with silver
Canadian halfpipe skier Cassie Sharpe opened her World Cup season with a silver medal. It was the Olympic champion’s best career result at Copper Mountain, a venue she’s called her “nemesis” after past setbacks. The Comox, B.C., skier finished 2.5 points behind winner Kelly Sildaru of Estonia. The 26-year-old won two Cup events, Dew Tour gold and an X Games bronze last season.
