Athletics & Recreation $303

Funds operationa­l costs of delivering programs and services: 65 intramural activities, some 300,000 annual visits to the fitness centre, more than 10,000 students attending drop-in and casual recreation­al activities and upwards of 800 part-time and casual staff. Supports more than 600 varsity athletes in 19 sports. Since 1965, the varsity athletics programs have claimed more than 176 provincial and 37 national titles.

Cultural & Special Services $210.60

Funds provide support for student services such as convocatio­n, student affairs, health education, leadership, orientatio­n, college council programmin­g, and the York U Art Gallery.

Counsellin­g $144.90

Provides enhanced support for student mental health and wellness counsellin­g. Staff see about 2,500 students each year. The university also offers specialize­d services in areas such as strengthen­ing transition­s for students with autism spectrum disorders and specialize­d counsellin­g for survivors of sexual violence. York U also employs students who work with other students in financial counsellin­g and career choices. The university recently opened a Wellness Hub staffed by senior nursing students who answer health-related questions and provide referral services.
