Rookie Hughes awaits green light

Newly signed Canucks rookie defenceman Quinn Hughes, drafted seventh last June, is still waiting for medical clearance to make his NHL debut. Hughes blocked a shot during a playoff battle between his Michigan Wolverines and Minnesota on Friday, leaving him with an ankle injury. Said Canucks coach Travis Green: “As soon as he’s healthy and ready to go, he’ll play.”
