Need to Upgrade Your Career Skills? It’s Easier Than Ever Before with New, Downtown Options

- Jeff McCarthy

Education is a lifelong journey. The working world is changing faster than ever before and working Canadians of every age must learn constantly to change with it. Of course, as we juggle our personal lives, families, careers, and other obligations, it’s essential that continuing education be convenient and able to adapt to our needs.

As an established leader in career-focused education, with programs focusing on a variety of topics ranging from applied arts to investor relations to industry-recognized software credentials, Seneca’s Faculty of Continuing Education (Part-Time Studies) has long offered flexible delivery options including online, early-morning, and hybrid course offerings. Now, with a new parttime studies campus located on Bay Street in downtown Toronto, the school is making it easier than ever before to build and expand the skills today’s business demands.

Focused, yet diverse offerings

Seneca’s size and diversity is the core of its strength as students gain the advantage of partnerships with industry leaders and the latest in hands-on computer technology through class work. Whether you need a single course, a series of courses, or a specific credential such as a diploma or graduate certificate, Seneca’s Faculty of Continuing Education has the resources to get you where you need to be.

Career-focused education is critical to both those looking to stay relevant in a market that demands a highly-skilled workforce and also for those interested in entering or transitioning into newly emerging labour sectors. The college draws on the deep insights and experience of their program advisory committees and their world-class faculty to create learning experiences tailored to the needs of today’s employers.

Customizing curriculums for Canadian businesses

Career-focused education is about reflecting the reality of today’s workplaces and anticipating where tomorrow’s careers will be made. The shifting labour landscape is a terrain of growing demand for shorter-term and highly-focused credentials; that’s why Seneca monitors changes in the labour market and is continuously reviewing and innovating their programs to keep on pace.

For example, in response to market demand for workers skilled in cybersecurity, Seneca now offers a fully online graduate certificate program for the field and has plans to offer a hybrid version of it at its downtown location this fall. Current downtown offerings include a focused course in Microsoft Power BI Desktop designed for workers skilled in business intelligence (BI) software as well as a preparation course offered for students preparing to complete the Canadian Securities Course ™. As part of the upcoming Investor Relations Graduate Certificate, Seneca is offering Introduction to Investor Relations and Investor Relations Crisis Management available downtown this May.

Whatever skills you may need to advance in your career, chances are good that Seneca has you covered. With our new downtown location now complementing our established campuses, it’s easier than ever before to find a program that fits your unique schedule and circumstances.
