Groundbrea­king TV series Deadwood has won the Heritage Award from the Television Critics Associatio­n while its creator, David Milch, will receive the Career Achievemen­t prize at the annual TCA Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. Deadwood, which redefined the TV Western, ran from 2004 to 2006 and wrapped up in May with an HBO TV movie.

á Woodstock 50 is officially cancelled. After months of setbacks, including plans to turn the three-day anniversar­y festival into a free, one-day event in Maryland, organizers announced Wednesday that the show won’t go on.

Portraits of Courage, a collection of 66 paintings by former president George W. Bush to honour members of the armed forces, will be the first visual arts exhibition in the Reach, the Kennedy Center’s new expansion in Washington. The paintings, first shown at the George W. Bush Presidenti­al Center in 2017, will be on view Oct. 7 to Nov. 15 at the Reach.

Hip-hop star Cardi B was forced to pull the plug on an Indiana concert Tuesday due to a “security threat.” The rapper didn’t go into much detail, but did issue an apology on Twitter. Indianapol­is police are investigat­ing.

The sudden death of Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce was caused by “unexpected death in epilepsy,” coroner’s officials confirmed Tuesday after a three-week investigat­ion. “The manner of death was certified as natural,” the statement said..
