BRIAN YANG: The 17-year-old from Richmond Hill advanced to the badminton singles semifinals. He is ranked fourth in the world in the under-19 category.

MEN’S BASEBALL: Canada faces Colombia in a game featuring a pair of 2-0 teams. Vancouver’s Scott Richmond, a former Blue Jay, is scheduled to start for Canada.

MEN’S FIELD HOCKEY: Canada faces the U.S. in the second game for both North American rivals. Each team is 1-0.

Jennifer Abel will compete with Pamela Ware in the three-metre synchronized diving event.
