Father to face murder charges

Edwin Bastidas, 52, accused of first-degree murder in the deaths of his sons Jonathan, 12, and Nicolas, 9, appeared by video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton from Maplehurst Correctional Complex. The boys were found dead in their home on Hiberton Crescent after Peel police responded to a medical call on the evening of Nov. 6. Bastidas’s case was held over until Thursday when he is scheduled to appear in court in person.
