Police charge driver for doing doughnuts

-

Police have charged Amidulla Baluch, 21, of Toronto, in connection with a stunt driving incident at the intersection of Yonge and Dundas streets on Monday night. Video footage caught a driver in a black Mustang doing doughnuts at about 10 p.m. as men record the stunt. In one video, the car can be seen rotating several times before a police cruiser arrives and chases after the car. Police briefly pursued the car, but didn’t catch the driver. On Wednesday, Baluch was arrested. He has been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance, mischief endangering life, flight while pursued by a peace officer, driving a motor vehicle on a highway while performing a stunt and careless driving. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Police in Ontario have reported a surge in stunt driving across the province, with charges almost tripling in year-over-year incidents in Toronto in March.
