Man recovers after hit and run

A man sustained non-lifethreat­ening injuries after being the victim of a hit and run in Mississaug­a on Thursday night, Peel police say. The call came in at around 9:30 p.m., police said on Twitter, reporting a collision near Shawson Drive and Dixie Road. The vehicle involved is believed to be a tractor trailer, according to police. The victim was initially taken to a trauma centre, but police later said he had suffered non-life-threatenin­g injuries. The Major Collision Bureau will be investigat­ing the hit and run. Anyone with dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact police.
