Singh talk show ‘A Little Late’ renewed

- Garnet Fraser

“A Little Late with Lilly Singh,” the late-night NBC talk show starring Toronto’s own YouTuber-turned-TV-star Lilly Singh, has been renewed for a second season. Network executive vice-president Katie Hockmeyer described Singh as “an incredible talent (who) has brought an expanding global audience to NBC” while announcing the renewal on Wednesday. The show also airs on Global TV.

The 31-year-old Scarborough native racked up billions of views with her self-created YouTube comedy before showbiz summoned her to Los Angeles in 2019. Her NBC show, airing at 1:35 a.m., featured guests ranging from Snoop Dogg to Malala Yousafzai; the 97 episodes of its first season, all of them taped months ago, finished airing last week. “A Little Late” averaged 670,000 nightly viewers, according to the Hollywood Reporter, numbers comparable to those of the previous time slot occupant, Carson Daly’s “Last Call.”
