Summerhill Avenue

-

THE DANCE PARTIES started in April. Every evening, at 7 p.m., in tribute to front-line workers, Liz Falconer would make a playlist and blast it from a PA on her porch on Summerhill Avenue. As the weather improved, the crowds grew. A five-year-old named Eli, “a real hip-hop kid,” began making requests. A woman in her 80s who uses a walker strolled nightly to the party and shook her hips to the “high BPM stuff.” As luck would have it, a country band called the Reklaws lives across the street and, one night, with fellow performer Dean Brody, they treated the revelers to a show.
