NHL to use private labs for testing

-

Asked if coronavirus testing for hockey players would mean less for the rest of the province if the NHL returns with Toronto as one of its hub cities, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said the league plans to pay for and use private labs. The league has said it will test players on a daily basis if games resume. The plan is to return with 24 teams playing out of two hub cities. Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton are among 10 sites under consideration, but the league has said Canadian cities won’t be chosen if the current 14-day quarantine after crossing the border remains in effect.
