A MEASURE OF RESILIENCE
Maestro Harout Fazlian conducts rehearsals ahead of Sunday’s Sound of Resilience concert inside the Temple of Bacchus at the historic site of Baalbek in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. A philharmonic orchestra of 150 musicians and singers performed without spectators after the Baalbek International Festival was downsized to a single concert amid economic meltdown and the global pandemic. The concert was beamed live on television and social media in what organizers called a message of "unity and hope."
