MOOREPARK Location: 110 Inglewood Ave., St. Clair Avenue. E. and Mount Pleasant Road.

Asking price: $5,500,000 Size: about 4,970 sq. ft., including finished basement

Lot: 81-by-278 feet, three-car detached garage, private drive Taxes: $21,536 (2019) Bedrooms: 4 plus 1 Bathrooms: 4 This one-of-a-kind estate backs onto a ravine in a desirable Toronto neighbourhood that’s walking distance to Yonge Street. and St. Clair Avenue.

The spacious, two-storey detached home includes many luxury features including arched windows, beamed ceilings, heated stone floors, skylights, a walkout lower level with kitchenette, and a three-car detached garage.

“We were completely taken by the location and the home’s unusual style: the cobblestone driveway, the rooflines and structure,” homeowner Jennifer Wardrop said.

“Once we had a tour, we understood the home — known as the Ashley & Crippen House — was equally special on the inside. Built in 1922, it is considered one of the first examples of residential modernism in Toronto, and was featured as such in the book, ‘Making Toronto Modern,’ by Christopher Armstrong, 2014.

“Because the house is set back on the ravine, it feels like living in a treehouse,” Wardrop said. She added that renovations over the past decade have also included maintaining original features (some 100 years old) such as the home’s unique doors, trim, hardware and some lighting.

The residence is a walk to the subway, restaurants, cafés, shops, businesses, schools and parks. As well, it has easy access to the Don Valley Pkwy.

“The three-car garage in the city is an added bonus, as it is wider than some homes,” listing agent Andrew Ipekian said. “The architecture resembles a Spanish villa. The scenic ravine views throughout are accentuated by soaring beamed ceilings that emphasize the scale and large proportions of the home.”

The home features a stucco exterior, a multitiered flat roof, a limestone walkway, stone walls, mature trees and a cobblestone drive.

Inside the extra-wide, arched front door, the front vestibule has an inlaidpattern heated stone floor, coffered ceiling, a tall window and a French door opening to the main foyer with a double closet and two-piece bathroom. Double wood doors from the foyer lead to the large living room that features hardwood flooring, woodbeamed ceiling and gas fireplace. Two sets of double wood doors from the living room open to the formal dining room that has six arched windows, hardwood flooring, a chandelier and a double French door walkout to the back patio.

Highlights of the modern kitchen include heated stone flooring, large centre island, marble counters and marble slab backsplash, a skylight, a contemporary light fixture and pot lights and high-end stainless appliances.

In the adjoining breakfast room is a curved bay window, hardwood floor, wood-beamed ceiling, pendant light fixture, large windows plus a garden door walkout to the back patio.

Completing this floor is an open sitting area and an office — or fourth bedroom.

On the second floor, the master bedroom features broadloom, a windowside sitting area, three double closets and a Juliette balcony overlooking the ravine. The five-piece master bedroom ensuite has a stand-alone soaker tub, glass shower stall, water closet, skylight, heated stone flooring and twin vanity sinks.

Two secondary bedrooms have direct access to a three-piece bathroom. The second-floor hallway has a skylight and a garden door walkout to a balcony. The fully finished lower level has a rec room with hardwood flooring, gas fireplace, double garden-door walkout to the backyard patio and a kitchenette. The guest bedroom has its own three-piece ensuite. As well, there is a wine cellar and a separate foyer with walkout.
